Dutch imaging technology company eyeo has opened a new office in Antwerp, selecting a flexible workspace solution at MeetDistrict Berchem to host its growing sensor design team. The site officially opened, marking the company’s first dedicated presence in Belgium.
The new office is located near Antwerp-Berchem station, one of the city’s main transport hubs, and will accommodate a specialized team focused on developing next-generation nanophotonic color-splitting image sensors. The Antwerp center is part of eyeo’s strategy to scale its technology toward commercial production, targeting applications in smartphones, XR, industrial imaging and smart city infrastructure.
Founded in the Netherlands and headquartered in Eindhoven, eyeo develops advanced imaging technology designed to improve light sensitivity and color accuracy in camera sensors. Its approach replaces traditional color filters with nanophotonic structures that guide light directly to pixels, aiming to overcome long-standing limitations in image sensor performance.
The company operates with a team estimated at several dozen employees and is currently expanding, with active recruitment for IC design and system architecture roles to support its growth.
The choice of a flexible workspace environment reflects both speed of deployment and access to infrastructure. Rather than securing a traditional lease, eyeo has opted for a managed office setup within MeetDistrict, allowing the company to establish operations quickly while maintaining flexibility as the Antwerp team grows.
MeetDistrict is a Belgian flexible workspace operator offering coworking, private offices and meeting facilities across multiple locations, including Antwerp, Ghent, Brussels and Leuven. The company focuses on corporate-oriented coworking environments, providing fully serviced offices, shared amenities and community programming tailored to scale-ups and established companies. While the exact number of desks allocated to eyeo has not been disclosed, the setup is designed to support a dedicated engineering team within a broader flexible office ecosystem.
