The European freelance marketplace Malt has established a new workspace in Madrid, taking a managed office for around 30 employees operated by the French flexible office provider Sora, according to information shared by company representatives.
Founded in 2013, Malt operates one of Europe’s largest platforms connecting companies with independent professionals. The platform brings together hundreds of thousands of freelancers and more than 70,000 client companies, while the organisation itself employs around 700 people from more than 40 nationalities. Malt operates across nine countries and regions.
In Madrid, instead of signing a conventional office lease, Malt opted for a managed office, a model where the workspace operator delivers a fully fitted and serviced office environment under flexible terms.
Sora’s model combines workspace operations with technology tools designed to manage offices and optimise their usage. The company activates under-used facilities, by sub-letting them. The company operates and manages workspace environments, handling operational aspects such as space management, services and infrastructure. The approach allows organisations to access ready-to-use office space with operational services included, reducing the administrative and real estate commitments associated with traditional offices.
